A Dozen Heroes

Twelve special people will be lined up outside Buckingham Palace with me at 9am this Sunday morning ready to kick this tour off in style. They have given up a lot of time to ride down the Mall with me to begin Stage 1 of the "Remembering Clive Golledge" tour from London to Rome.

My amazing and hugely understanding wife Dominique is the twelfth member of the team for the day, she will be driving the support car with all the kit down to Dover which I will take onto the Ferry on Monday. Hopefully she won't have to scoop anyone up into the back of the car on the way to Dover. 

Stage 1 (see map on link below) is a 90 mile journey from London to Dover, with a lunch break at a pub in Sittingbourne after 55 miles (everyone is welcome to join us!). It should take us about 4hrs to get to Sittingbourne, then after a good lunch, another 2.5hrs to get to Dover, we aim to be there by 6pm.

Alex Cook will then be cycling the next three stages into France and Belgium with me, whilst Dominiques father will take over driving a support hire car we collect in Calais on Monday morning.
